I was pleased to assist CNBC reporter Scott Cohn and producer Jeff Pohlman when they visited Arkansas several months ago to explore allegations of corporate cover-up and a "profits over people" mentality within this firearms company. Like most Arkansans, I firmly believe in the right to own and bear arms, but I also am of the unwavering belief that a gun should not fire unless the trigger is pulled. CNBC amassed overwhelming evidence that the Model 700 can and does fire without a trigger pull, an allegation that Remington has steadfastly denied with respect to the Model 700, which utilizes what is commonly known as a Walker trigger group.
